As part of CEVA's community outreach and continued work within the organization's DEI Action Plan, we have formed a partnership with Self Enhancement, Inc. and the Multnomah County SUN Schools program to produce a series of after-school volleyball clinics at several elementary schools in the Portland area.
This program was the idea of Lindsey Gay, the current Adult Representative on the CEVA Board of Directors. Lindsey also gets credit for making the downloadable flyer linked on this page. Special thanks to Cinda Jackson at SEI, and Diallo Lewis with PPS for their guidance and assistance.
Coaches who participate in this program are eligible for incentives from the CEVA region, including a complimentary membership (for club coaches) in the upcoming season or a complimentary membership to The Art of Coaching Volleyball. Additionally, participation in this program will be taken into consideration for future grant opportunities to clubs. Players under 18 interested in coaching can participate as well (great community service opportunity!). Interested? Fill out the form below and a member of our staff will contact you.
If you can't volunteer your time as a coach, but still want to help, here are a couple suggestions:
- Share this website with your friends, on your social media, and through other networking channels you have access to.
- Speak to your club director about getting the club involved, through coaching, donating, or partnering with a school.
The schools below are local SUN schools that CEVA will look to partner with starting in Fall, 2021. While not all schools will participate in the Fall, the goal is to grow the program to eventually provide clinics at all these sites.

Most clinics will run on Monday and Wednesday afternoons starting the week of October 18th. The Fall term ends on Wednesday, December 1st. The earliest start time is 3:30 PM, and the latest end time is 5:00 PM.
Winter and Spring Term dates will be announced later in the Fall.
Sign-ups for these clinics run through Self-Enhancement, Inc. If you have students who may be interested in participating, please contact SEI.
Special thanks to Baden Sports for assisting with providing equipment for this program. The equipment used during the clinics will be donated back to the schools and students at the conclusion of the series.
Dick's Sporting Goods has provided financial assistance for this program and we are grateful for their support.
