SEI/SUN YOUTH CLINICS

COACHING IN THE PROGRAM

Coaches interested in participating in these clinics can sign up using the form below.

Time Commitment:  About 2 hours per week - one hour on two afternoons.

What You'd Be Doing:  Working with elementary-aged boys and girls, teaching them basic volleyball skills in a fun atmosphere.  You would be paired with at least one other coach in most cases.

Locations:  We have not finalized schools for Winter Term yet, but you can see where our potential sites are on the map below.

Incentives:  See the information below, as well as the sign-up form, for the full list.  CEVA is very pleased to be able to offer several incentives to coaches who are giving their time to this program.

INCENTIVES FOR COACHES

CEVA is pleased to be able to offer a number of incentives to coaches who sign up for Winter Term.  Coaches will have the option to select from a stipend, a donation to their school for new volleyball equipment, free Art of Coaching memberships, and more.  Please see the sign-up form for the full list.

WHAT IS IT?

As part of CEVA's community outreach and continued work within the organization's DEI Action Plan, we have formed a partnership with Self Enhancement, Inc. and the Multnomah County SUN Schools program to produce a series of after-school volleyball clinics at select elementary schools in the Portland area.  All of these schools are part of the SUN Schools program.

WHEN & WHERE?

Winter Term runs from January 10th through March 3rd.  Exact times/dates for clinics are being determined.  Generally, clinics will be two nights a week, from 3:30-4:30 or from 4:00-5:00.

In the Fall Term, clinics were Monday & Wednesday nights.

HOW CAN I HELP?

If you can't volunteer your time as a coach, but still want to help, here are a couple suggestions:

- Share this website with your friends, on your social media, and through other networking channels you have access to.
- Speak to your club director about getting the club involved, through coaching, donating, or partnering with a school.
- Make a donation to the program through the link above.  Donations will be earmarked for the schools in the SUN program.

PARTICIPATION

Sign-ups to participate in these clinics run through Self-Enhancement, Inc.  If you have students who may be interested in participating, please contact SEI.

THANKS

Special thanks to Baden Sports for assisting with providing equipment for this program.  The equipment used during the clinics will be donated back to the schools and students at the conclusion of the series.

Dick's Sporting Goods has provided financial assistance for this program and we are grateful for their support.

We are thankful to Cinda Jackson at SEI, the SEI/SUN Site Managers, and the volunteers who have helped make this program a success.
