WEEK 1 - APRIL 23-24

Any items left at the Portland Expo Center will stay there after the tournament and are not collected by CEVA.  Please contact the Expo Center if you need to collect a lost item.  The Expo Center and CEVA are not responsible for returning these items to you, or costs associated with returning items.

The Columbia Empire Volleyball Association (CEVA) will have the following safety protocols and policies in place for each weekend of the 2022 Regional Championships at the Portland Expo Center (PEC).

  • Masks are not required, but spectators, coaches, staff members, and non-participating players are encouraged to wear masks and maintain social distance when possible.
  • Per CDC guidelines, individuals who are considered at high risk should continue to wear masks.
  • CEVA staff will disinfect courts prior to play each weekend and will disinfect all courts and chairs at the end of each tournament day.
  • PEC will continue to implement enhanced cleaning protocols throughout the facility.

Note – proof of vaccination and/or a negative COVID-19 test is not required to attend or participate in this event.

Last updated 3/14/2022 and subject to change.

The following policies will be in place at the Portland Expo Center:

- Doors will open at 7:00 AM.  There is no reason to stand outside the doors prior to that time.
- "Camping" is not permitted in Halls D or E.  Camp space is available in Hall C only.  Please do not store bags, etc. against the walls in Hall D or E.
- Ball handling must take place on the courts only.
- No outside food or drink (except water bottles for athletes)
- No outside chairs permitted
- No tailgating in the parking lots
- No overnight parking or camping (if RVs are brought, they may only be on the premises for the day and will be asked to park in a specific area of the property).

The facility does not have free public WiFi available.  WiFi access can be purchased during the weekend by visiting the PEC Administration Office upstairs in Hall D.  Cost is $10/day - cash transactions preferred.

Admission into the tournament for spectators is free (not including parking).

Teams assigned to work a match must provide a rostered adult to serve as the R2, two line judges, and a table crew.  An R1 will be provided on all matches.  Juniors may not serve as the R2 during this event.

Teams must bring a physical copy of their SportsEngine Governing Season roster and present it to the on-court official prior to their first match.  AES rosters are not required to be uploaded for this event.  See this link for what a SE Governing Season roster looks like.  Rosters on phones are not permitted for this event.

Warm-ups for the first two rounds of either wave are 5-4-4.  All warm-ups after the first two rounds are 2-4-4.  In the AM waves on both Saturday and Sunday mornings, the timed warm-ups will begin no later than 7:40 AM, whether both teams are present or not.  Ball handling may only take place on the courts.

Athletic trainers, provided by our partner Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists, will be on-site at the tournament each day beginning at 7:30.  Parents, athletes, and coaches who approach the medical tent must be masked.  Please see the policies linked below for more information.  The athletic trainers will be located next to the Championship Desk in Hall E.

Teams will not switch sides between or during sets.  All matches are best of 3 (25/25/15) unless explicitly modified by the tournament staff.  No pre-match or post-match handshakes or high-fives.

4/26/2022 - One pool on Saturday in the 18s, Flight 4, on Court 24, will be played as 3 sets to 25 points.

How Do I Know if I've Paid?
Club directors - check your AES account.  Log into AES, go to "My Events," then click on "My Teams" next to the Regionals weekend you're looking for.  If the "Accepted" column says "Accepted" then you've paid.  If that column still says "OK To Pay" then you have not paid for the event.  In that case, you will see a red "Pay Online" button at the bottom left of the screen that you can use to submit payment.

Payment Deadlines
12s/16s - payment must be submitted by 3:00 PM on April 15th.
14s/18s - payment must be submitted by 3:00 PM on April 22nd.

The entry fee for 2022 Regionals is $500 per team.  The refund policy for the CEVA Regional Championships is taken from the Junior Girls' Handbook.  Teams have until 3:00 PM on Friday, March 25 to cancel their registration and receive a full refund if they have paid.  Teams who cancel after this date only receive a refund if CEVA can find a replacement team.  Teams who cancel after 3:00 PM on April 15 receive no refund of any kind, regardless of if a replacement team is found.  Per the policy in the Junior Handbook (Section 7.3.5), clubs that have invoices more than 30 days delinquent from the region are also subject to having their teams removed from the event.  Invoices for the month of March are being sent on 3/23 and are due on 4/22.  Invoices from March that are not paid on 4/22 can result in the club's teams not being able to participate in Regionals.

The CEVA office will be operating on a modified schedule around Regionals.  Our staff will be on-site at PEC and availability will be limited.  E-mail will be the most efficient way to contact us.  Our office hours are listed below.  Hours are subject to change.
