IMPACT Certification

All coaches registered with USA Volleyball are required to be IMPACT & SafeSport certified. Below are notes and information regarding this certification process.

Option 1 to get certified:  USA Volleyball IMPACT On-Demand Course - Free

USA Volleyball offers an On Demand IMPACT course that can be taken any time via their website. Users can start, stop and save. IMPACT On-Demand is FREE to current USAV members.  Participants must have a valid USAV membership.  Non-members will incur a $100 fee.  Click here to get more information. Login to Webpoint and go to the "USAV Volleyball Events" menu on the left hand side of the page. Go to "USAV Coaching Clinics" then register for "IMPACT". To access IMPACT after registering click the red "USAV Academy" button on the lower left hand side of the screen.

Option 2 to get certified:  IMPACT Equivalency

In some cases, coaches who've taken ASEP or NFHS courses are eligibile to have those completed courses applied toward an IMPACT certification for USA Volleyball.  The only NFHS course that is eligible to be applied toward equivalency is the "Coaching Volleyball" course.  This process is handed entirely by the USAV Coaching Education Department.  In order to see if your coursework qualifies, please e-mail and include your name, USAV membership number, and proof of completion of the courses you wish to have applied to your IMPACT certification. Do not send this information to the CEVA office.  For more information on this process, click here

SAFESPORT (New policies for 2019-2020)

Volleyball athletes have a great sense of self-worth, demonstrate better collaboration skills and maintain healthier peer relationships. Unfortunately, sports, including volleyball can also be a high-risk environment for misconduct, including physical and sexual abuse. All forms of misconduct are intolerable and in direct conflict with the values of USA Volleyball.

Along with all USOC National Governing Bodies, USA Volleyball has adopted the SafeSport program as required education for members.  CEVA requires all adults affiliated with a junior program to take the SafeSport training.  This includes all Club Directors, Club Administrators, Head & Assistant Coaches, Team Reps, Chaperones, Officials, etc.

New policies for 2019-2020 season:

  • Per the MAAPP policies, SafeSport will be an annual certification.  We encourage you to wait until after September 1st (new membership season) to complete your SafeSport requirements for the upcoming season.
  • Per the MAAPP policies, athletes who are 18, or who turn 18 during the season, will be required to complete the Core SafeSport training in 2019-2020.  This must be done either before the athlete turns 18, or immediately upon turning 18.  Athletes will not be permitted to participate if they are 18 and do not have SafeSport.  CEVA recommends all athletes 17-years-old or older take SafeSport prior to the season to prevent a disruption in their participation.  A parental consent form must be completed in order for a minor to complete SafeSport (form can be found on our home page).
  • We strongly encourage you to read the MAAPP policies published by USAV using the link below.
  • Team managers under 18 in the CEVA region do NOT have to complete a SafeSport certification.  However, once managers turn 18, they must complete a Background Screen and SafeSport certification within 30 calendar days.

1 - It can take up to 24 hours for your SafeSport certification to be updated in Webpoint once you complete the courses.  Do not attempt this certification at the last minute - for example, don't do this coursework on a Friday night before a Saturday morning tournament.  Your certification may not update in time for you to be put on a roster.
2 - At the end of each of the three course modules, you have the option to download a certificate of completion for that particular module.  Please download those and keep them for your records.  If there is a question about if you've completed the course, these certifications can offer proof.  You can also download a certificate on the dashboard of your USAV Academy account.  You will also receive an e-mail when your certification is updated in Webpoint.
3 - A valid SafeSport certification means that you have completed all of the modules within the training.  There is an introduction in one module, followed by 3 specific course modules.  You must complete all of these to be certified and for your Webpoint profile to be updated.  Completion of anything less than the full course does not grant certification.

Together we can provide a safe environment for all members to enjoy the sport of volleyball.
