CEVA's AVCA Diversity Grant Application Opens 8/15

By CEVA, 08/07/23, 8:15AM PDT

CEVA will award one grant to a coach from the region who wishes to attend the AVCA Convention in Tampa, FL this December.  The Convention runs in conjunction with the NCAA Division 1 Women’s Final Four and is one of the premier networking and educational opportunities in our sport.

Applications for the program will open on August 15 at are due by 3:00 PM on September 15 and require information from both the coach and the coach’s club director.

In the third year of this program’s existence, CEVA has partnered with the AVCA Diversity Awards Program to enhance this opportunity.  This year, the recipient of the grant will receive registration to the convention, double-occupancy lodging in Tampa, and access to specific programming as part of the Diversity Awards Program.  In addition, the coach will receive $1,350 from the region to help with air travel, NCAA match tickets, and other expenses directly related to attendance at the convention.

Preference for this grant will be given to coaches from diverse populations, coaches who have never attended the convention before, and/or coaches who primarily serve an under-served or underrepresented demographic.  None of these factors will be used solely to decide a grant recipient.  Coaches must be current members of CEVA and have eligibility requirements complete.

Clubs will nominate individual coaches from their club to receive a grant, and funds will be distributed directly to the club as reimbursement following the convention.

CEVA has maintained a longstanding partnership with the AVCA and continues to participate each year in the AVCA Region Affiliate Partner Program (RAPP).

Questions on this program can be directed to the CEVA office.
