Andrew Borel has been named the region’s Equipment Manager, assuming a newly created part-time position that will oversee the region’s portable court inventory as well as several facets of CEVA’s Regional Championships.  His official start date was July 1.

Borel served on the setup and teardown crew for Regionals in 2023 and helped lead the fastest and most efficient process the region’s seen.  He also served on the event staff at the 2023 event and gained a quick understanding of the logistics behind the region’s largest stand-alone event.

Borel will be tasked with all aspects of court rentals, including loading & unloading logistics, shipping coordination, contract execution, and more.  He will also be charged with soliciting new customers, ordering new equipment, and maintaining existing equipment to CEVA’s standards.

Borel is a coach with Volleyball Alliance as well as an assistant coach at Beaverton High School.  He graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree from UC-Santa Barbara and has lived in Portland since 2010.  He’s worked in several non-profits during his career and brings a wide-ranging knowledge of volleyball and logistics to the staff.  He is originally from Southern California.
