The Columbia Empire Volleyball Association will be holding their annual general election between April 28-May 8 and four positions on the Board of Directors will be up for election.

The Officials’ Representative, Diversity & Inclusion Representative, Junior Girls’ Representative, and Parent Representative positions will all be up for election this Spring.  The Board will also have at least one At-Large position available.  The Board is not obligated to fill At-Large positions, and they are chosen by the existing Board, not the general membership.

Board candidates are subject to a thorough vetting process (outlined on the website) and should be familiar with the Board/Committee Handbook.  Attendance at meetings is required but can be done virtually if necessary.  Board members should expect to spend 1-2 hours per week on Board-specific work, and other time commitments may come with committee work or serving as an officer. 

Volleyball experience is not a requirement, though for certain positions on the Board it can be helpful.  Board members are expected to make decisions in the best interest of the region, not for a single club. 

All full adult members of the region are eligible to vote.  Board elections are conducted electronically via an online form.
