As we get ready for club season, it’s important for players and families – from those just starting to those who’ve played for several years – to know what they need to do. Take a moment to read through this brief article and get ready for the season.
Do Your Homework: If you aren’t sure what club you’re going to play for, or try out for, do your homework well ahead of time. Research clubs in your area by checking our girls’ club directory and boys’ club directory. E-mail or call club directors and ask questions. Know what age group your athlete qualifies for. Have a game plan going into tryout weekends. Know what tryouts to attend well before tryouts start.
Read Our Parent Guide: It’s a great resource with advice for parents. Check it out here.
Get A Tryout Membership: Remember that memberships are non-refundable. A tryout membership costs $15, and you can apply that cost to the cost of a full membership once the athlete commits to a team. Check our membership page for more info.
Learn About Scholarships: CEVA has two scholarship funds available that student-athletes can apply for. They open on October 1 and are due on November 1. Learn more here.
Learn About CEVA: It’s important to understand what CEVA does and doesn’t control. It’s also good to know more about our organization, our values, and our other initiatives. You’re welcome to e-mail us with any questions.
