Applications for CEVA’s scholarship funds will be available beginning at 9:00 AM on October 3. This includes the CEVA Memorial Scholarship Fund and the CEVA #VTC Scholarship Fund.
Applications will be available online at www.cevaregion.org/scholarships
The CEVA Memorial Scholarship Fund assists student-athletes who can demonstrate financial need through proof of receiving government assistance (such as free/reduced lunch programs, WIC, etc.).
The CEVA #VolleyTheChange Scholarship Fund assists student-athletes who have other barriers to entry besides financial need. Established in the Summer of 2019, the scholarship aims to help players of color, players from an ethnic minority, and players who identify as members of the LGBTQ community. This scholarship is also intended to remove barriers to entry for players who have a chronic medical condition, mental health condition, and/or learning or physical disability.
Applications do include essay questions – however student-athletes may contact the region to set up a one-on-one interview to answer those questions if they are more comfortable doing so. Video submissions are also accepted. Aid is distributed directly to clubs and applied toward a student-athlete’s club dues.
The deadline for applications will be 3:00 PM on November 1. The timing is so financial aid winners can at least be preliminarily notified prior to tryouts. Once the student-athlete commits to a team, CEVA will verify their team assignment and club dues, then distribute awards.
