CEVA had two teams representing the region at the USAV Boys’ National Championships in Las Vegas this week, and both finished in the top 5 of their respective divisions.

PacWest 18 Tahoma finished in second place, out of forty-one teams, in the 18s Club Division.  They went 7-4 during the tournament.  They lost in the division championship match to LBVC, a team from Southern California, who went undefeated in the event and lost only one set during the competition.

AJAX 18 Gold finished tied for fifth, out of thirty-seven teams, in the 18s USA Division.  After earning a bid at a qualifier in Chicago back in January, the team went 5-4 during BJNC.  They lost in the first round of the Gold bracket on Thursday to the eventual division champion.  Their run to the top bracket included sweeping a challenge pool on Wednesday morning, despite coming into the pool as the lowest seed.

Full results from BJNC can be found on AES.

Next year’s Boys’ Junior National Championships will be held in Salt Lake City from June 29-July 6, 2023.

Boys’ tryouts in the CEVA region for next season may begin on October 1, 2022.
