Eighteen CEVA junior girls’ teams competed in Indianapolis during the twelve-day USAV Girls’ Junior National Championships that concluded on July 4.
The competition was highlighted by a 2nd place divisional finish (NPJ Salem 16 National) and two 5th place divisional finishes (OJVA 17 Gold and NPJ Salem 17 National). All CEVA teams won at least one match.
Teams representing Athena, OJVA, NPJ, and Excel NW all took part in the competition. Their finishes are noted below:
NPJ Bend 12 National – 38th in the 12 National Division (3 wins)
NPJ Salem 12 National – 57th in the 12 American Division (4 wins)
Athena 13 Gold – 42nd in the 13 National Division (3 wins)
OJVA 13 Gold – 37th in the 13 American Division (5 wins)
OJVA 14 Gold – 23rd in the 14 National Division (2 wins)
Excel NW 14 Rox – 17th in the 14 American Division (7 wins)
Athena 14 Gold – 13th in the 14 Freedom Division (5 wins)
Athena 15 Gold – 35th in the 15 National Division (2 wins)
NPJ Salem 15 National – 29th in the 15 American Division (6 wins)
Excel NW 15 Rox – 47th in the 15 Freedom Division (1 win)
OJVA 16 Gold – 29th in the 16 Open Division (1 win)
Athena 16 Gold – 33rd in the 16 National Division (5 wins)
NPJ Salem 16 National – 2nd in the 16 Liberty Division (7 wins)
Excel NW 16 Rox – 38th in the 16 American Division (4 wins)
Athena 16 Black – 39th in the 16 Freedom Division (1 win)
OJVA 17 Gold – 5th in the 17 National Division (7 wins)
Athena 17 Gold – 13th in the 17 American Division (5 wins)
NPJ Salem 17 National – 5th in the 17 Freedom Division (6 wins)
USAV has announced next year’s GJNC will be split into separate tournaments, with the 11s-13s competing in Minneapolis on June 14-17, 2023, and the 14s-17s competing June 28-July 6 in Chicago. The 18s event remains in April and will be hosted in Columbus.
CEVA also has two boys’ teams competing at BJNC in Las Vegas. Competition wraps up on July 7 and their finishes will also be posted on this site.
Tryout dates for the 2022-2023 season will be announced later this month.
