The CEVA Athlete Advisory Council (CAAC) will make its return for the 2021-2022 season after a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The CAAC is a unique opportunity for student-athletes to have a voice in the direction of the region.  It gives members a seat at the table and a say in the development of region policies, procedures, and programming.  Furthermore, the CAAC plays a fundamental role in CEVA’s philanthropic initiatives throughout the year.

The CAAC consists of up to 12 high school-aged student-athletes.  It is a chance to foster personal development and leadership opportunities for players and build a sense of community among athletes from different clubs, teams, and geographic areas of CEVA.  For high school students who need community service or leadership opportunities, this is a fantastic way to accomplish those.

Athletes must be current members and a part of an active CEVA club.  Pending applications, the council will consist of three members each from grades 9-12.  Generally, no more than two members will come from the same club unless an exception is made.

CAAC members are invited to meetings of CEVA committees and have an open door for meetings with the CEVA staff.  In conjunction with the office, the council will also seek out further professional development and networking opportunities to give members a leg up in their growth outside of volleyball.

The council is self-driven with advisory roles played by the CEVA staff.  The goal will be for the council to elect a chairperson, who will be tasked with steering the overall direction and initiatives of the group, as well as other officers.

The application for the CAAC will be available on CEVA’s website beginning at 9:00 AM on November 8thwww.cevaregion.org/caac.  Applications will be accepted through Friday, December 10th at 3:00 PM.  Council members will be notified of their selection no later than the end of calendar year 2021.  The council will begin meeting in January and will meet either virtually or in-person at least one time per month.
