As CEVA continues to expand its programming and opportunities, the region needs more people willing to become officials.
The COVID-19 pandemic only exacerbated an already-existing shortage of officials across all sports. Now that we’re cautiously returning to normal, and ready to get back into the gym, we’re looking for dedicated, reliable individuals who are looking to give back to the sport.
Officials are paid contractors through the region, and earnings are based on rating. Officials are also eligible for mileage reimbursements, free training, housing costs when traveling to tournaments (in specific instances), gear from regional sponsors, and more.
The region has also developed programs in the last year to assist new officials with their start-up costs, such as purchase of materials, USAV memberships, and other financial barriers to entry.
CEVA is also looking to expand our programming footprint to wider swaths of the region, including Central and Southern Oregon. We need officials throughout the area we cover.
Officials have the opportunity to give back in other ways as well, including serving on committees, contributing to the region’s DEI work, and partnering with staff on specific initiatives. The region also offers opportunities and training in outdoor & beach officiating.
