CEVA has announced a series of grants that will be made available to coaches in the region to help offset costs of attending the AVCA Convention.  This year’s convention, one of the premier networking and educational events in volleyball, will take place December 15-18 in Columbus, OH – in conjunction with the NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Final Four.

CEVA grants will prioritize coaches who are first-time convention attendees, coaches who come from a minority population, coaches who serve a historically under-served or under-represented population, and/or coaches who participate in CEVA’s youth clinic series in the Fall.  None of these will be sole determinants to decide who receives grant money, and all coaches are encouraged to apply.

The grant application will be available on the CEVA website beginning at 9:00 AM on September 1st.  The deadline for applications is 3:00 PM on Friday, October 1st.  Grant winners and their clubs will be notified no later than 3:00 PM on Friday, October 15th.  Grant funds can be used to cover travel expenses, convention registration, and specific seminar costs.

Coaches who are awarded grant money will also be eligible to receive a free AVCA membership through the region.

This is the first time that CEVA has offered financial assistance to attend the AVCA Convention.  Last year’s AVCA Convention was held entirely virtually in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  This year’s convention sees a return to in-person programming.

The collegiate volleyball season begins for many schools in the next 2-3 weeks with preseason matches, and culminates with the Final Four in Columbus.

More information on the convention can be found at www.avcaconvention.org.  More information on the grant program specifically can be found at www.cevaregion.org/avca
