Nathan Blankenship and John Downey have been elected to the CEVA Board of Directors and will begin their terms in August.

Blankenship has been elected as the newest Boys’ Representative to the BOD.  He will replace Michal-Ann Watts, and will be tasked with further developing and growing boys’ volleyball in CEVA.  The last year has seen the development of a full Junior Boys’ Handbook, the advent of the NW Boys Tour in collaboration with the Puget Sound Region, and a growth in junior boys’ members.

Blankenship is the current club director of NW Elite Volleyball Club and the coach at Wilsonville High School.  He comes to the CEVA BOD with experience as an executive at a large local company and international playing experience across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

Downey has been elected as the Geographical Representative.  He replaces Randi Viggiano.  Downey brings a wealth of experience to the Board, including two stints (one interim) as the Commissioner of CEVA.  He is the current club director of the Basin Bombers Volleyball Club and the coach at Mazama High School, both located in Klamath Falls.

Downey has previous experience coaching with clubs and schools in the Portland metro area, including Rose City Volleyball Club.  He also has extensive experience working with the Willamette Volleyball Classic tournament, held each May at Oregon State University, and with many of CEVA’s portable equipment assets.

The CEVA Board will also be selecting two new At-Large representatives this Summer.
