PHILANTHROPY & GIVING

CEVA seeks to not only be a top-notch volleyball organization, but a first-class member of our community.  In keeping with those goals, we engage in a broad-scale philanthropic program.

CEVA is much bigger than volleyball.  While volleyball will always be the main driver of our business, the platform we have is one that must be used for the betterment of society as a whole.  On this page are a few examples of the programs and initiatives we're involved in, and you can expect more to get added.

  • CEVA donates thousands of dollars' worth of new and lightly used equipment to clubs each year, including more than $14,000 of equipment in the 2023-2024 season.
  • CEVA makes an annual donation to the International Volleyball Hall of Fame in Holyoke, MA.
  • CEVA supports the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame and other local philanthropic initiatives.
  • In 2023, CEVA gave over $55,000 in scholarship funds to clubs to help athletes with their club dues.
  • In 2023, CEVA partnered with Adaptive Sports NW to run five free sitting volleyball clinics for para-athletes in our community and has donated to ASNW the last two years.
  • In 2022, CEVA secured grant funding to help upgrade volleyball equipment at local schools, including Sabin Elementary School in Portland.
  • In 2022, CEVA donated balls, ball bags, knee pads, and a new volleyball net to an orphanage in the Dominican Republic.
  • In 2021, CEVA launched a partnership with SEI & the Multnomah County Sun Schools program to produce a series of after-school clinics for minority, under-served, and low-income youth.
  • In 2021, CEVA started a grant program that helps coaches attend the AVCA Convention.  The grants prioritize first-time attendees and coaches who either come from, or serve, a minority or under-represented population.
  • In Fall 2019, CEVA donated nearly $1,000 of sporting equipment to school-aged children in Gondar, Ethiopia through a partnership with the Corvallis Sister Cities Association, all equipment that was requested by the children and their schools.
  • In December 2019, CEVA partnered with Community Warehouse in Portland to donate housewares, blankets, and other items to families in need prior to the holidays
