GIRLS CLUBS

Information on this page is provided by clubs during their activation. While CEVA will work to maintain the accuracy of the information, it is the responsibility of clubs to inform CEVA when information changes.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK

Selecting a club is a family decision and takes research. Although clubs must abide by general CEVA and USA Volleyball rules, each club is different in the way they run their organization and train their athletes. Do your club research well in advance of tryouts. Find out about different options and talk to several different clubs. Don’t assume a big club is better than a small club, a paid coach is better than a volunteer coach, or the right fit for your friend is the right fit for you. CEVA doesn't endorse one club over another, but if you have questions, e-mail us at region@cevaregion.org

Here's some questions to ask:

Who are the coaches and what are their credentials?
What is the club's philosophy? (To have fun? To improve? To win?)
When, where and how often are practices?
How far will teams travel?
Do athletes have to sign a Letter of Commitment immediately (e.g., at tryouts)?
Can athletes attend multiple tryouts without losing their offer?
Cost? Monthly dues? Due up front? Is there an itemized report of costs?
What is expected of players in the club?
Check out club websites, talk to classmates and friends, call the club directors and coaches.
Do they have fundraising opportunities?
Do they make allowances for multi-sport athletes?

Remember that memberships are non-refundable. We encourage athletes to purchase a Tryout Membership and then upgrade when they make a team. The region doesn't guarantee athletes will be selected for participation on a club team.
